What is Hypnotherapy?
Solution-focused Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy helps people to make significant, positive, permanent changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time. A session includes a combination of hypnosis and therapeutic intervention.  The hypnosis creates a deeply relaxed state and heightened suggestibility, so the subconscious mind is free to accept the therapeutic positive suggestions and changes. Most people find the experience extremely relaxing and cathartic. I have witnessed first-hand how rapidly yet simply hypnotherapy works and how clients enjoy momentous, life-changing results in a calm, confidential and respectful environment.

How does Hypnosis feel?
Hypnosis is a trance like state, similar to the relaxing, floating stage in-between being asleep and awake. Everyone is different – some people enter into a deep trance easily, they hear everything at the time, but do not remember every detail after the session. Others remain in a light trance and can clearly remember everything. Most often people drift in and out between different levels of conscious awareness. Hypnosis isn’t the weird or magical state of mind that we are led to believe from television and stage shows, but a very natural, daily state of mind. You are in full control and are fully aware of everything that is occurring during this altered state. You cannot be made to do anything that you do not want to do or divulge anything that you do not wish to divulge.

How does Clinical Hypnotherapy work
Under hypnosis, the conscious, rational part of the brain is temporarily bypassed, enabling the subconscious part of the brain the freedom to accept beneficial therapeutic suggestions. The subconscious brain influences our actions, habits and feelings and under hypnosis it becomes receptive to therapy and change.

Your Hypnotherapy Treatment - What To Expect

FREE Consultation:

During your free consultation, we will have a chat about your needs, goals and aspirations. I will ask you a few questions in order to gain a deep understanding of your situation, needs and Inner You. If at any point during our chat you feel that I’m not the right therapist for you, there is absolutely no obligation to proceed. It is important that you feel comfortable and trust me. If I don’t think that I am the very best person to help you, I will refer you to someone more suitable to support you with your needs.

The Hypnotherapy Session:

Once you have booked your hypnotherapy session I will prepare an individual therapy plan just for you. This may involve bespoke induction into hypnosis scripts, personalised therapy suggestions scripts or guided imagery adapted to your needs and goals. Hypnotherapy sessions last up to one hour. And this time is totally dedicated to you. Interruption free, it is your time and your space devoted to creating the solutions for you to achieve your goals. We will begin with a relaxed chat so that I can ‘check in’ with how you are doing and you can update me of any changes that may have occurred since we last saw each other. The Hypnotherapy session will then begin. The format of each therapy session will vary from person to person depending upon their needs. I will choose the type of treatment that will be most effective for you. For example, if you are seeking help with changing a habit (such as smoking) a different approach would be used compared with someone who is seeking help with stress and anxiety. A typical session will begin with me guiding you into a calm and relaxing hypnosis. Once in the hypnotic trance, the therapy work will commence, with subconscious re-learning suggestions. At the end of the session you will be be gently guided back to full wakeful awareness.

Subsequent Treatments
How many treatments you need will depend upon your individual goals. Sometimes a single session is all that is needed, but for a deep-rooted emotional issue several sessions may be required. I offer a transparent, honest service so this will be clearly discussed during your free consultation and throughout the therapy process.
